Burger rolls
Mix the lukewarm water with the milk and sugar in a bowl. I use my food processor for this. Crumble the yeast cube into it. The fresh yeast is important here, with dry yeast the rolls don’t really rise.
Mix the mixture for about 10 min. let go. Then add the flour, salt, 1 egg and the melted butter and cook for about 5 minutes. Knead on high to a smooth dough.
Let the dough rise for about 1 hour in a warm place covered with a tea towel.
After this hour, divide the dough into 10 parts of approx. 90 g each and distribute it into balls on a baking tray lined with baking paper. The dough is very sticky, so it’s best to flour the work surface and your hands a little.
Now cover the rolls again and let rise for another hour. In the meantime, mix 1 egg with 2 tablespoons of milk and 2 tablespoons of water.
Then carefully brush the rolls with the egg-milk mixture and sprinkle with a little sesame seeds. Bake the rolls for approx. 16-20 minutes in the oven preheated to 200 ° C (top / bottom heat) and then let cool down a little.
The rolls go perfectly with burgers or pulled pork or for breakfast with Nutella.
